Can you guess where we are?
Finally! The snow is gone and here we are on Swans Island.
It's not summer yet, but Sylvia enjoyed a sunny run on Carrying Place Beach.

 Ahhh... fresh ocean sniffs

Looking forward to coming back

 Happy Easter!
 Sylvia takes in the view
The view from the rocks in Owl's Head
Hey, what are you doing down there?
This fox was loping through a field in Owl's Head, beyond Sylvia's sight. We were on our way back to Rockland from a little hike through the woods along the shore.
The snow in the woods in Camden tastes better. At least, Sylvia thinks so. Soon it will be all gone. Get it while you can!
Have a great day!

The seasons circle around and come back at us, always surprizing us somehow. And, like the days, we are always, however conscious or not, surprized by life's twists and turns, and funny smells. I've learned from Sylvia that whatever smell arises, it means something and can be interesting, and in taking stock of what's there we participate in life, letting all other concerns for the moment melt away.

Stepping (slowly, cautiously) toward spring. Here we are at Harbor Park, in March. As you can see, we weren't the only ones to explore here. Sylvia barked "hello" to the birds, another little dog and took many, many sniffs.

The blizzard of 2015! Sylvia and I were tucked away (snoring) inside while the wind howled and the snow drifted up and up and up outside.

More photos from the Arctic archive. What a cold day that was!

Arctic-like cold in Owl's Head, January 2015. We didn't stick around too long, but long enough for a whiff!
